Oh, dear Malik. I'm sorry I haven't been around to comment on your awe-inspiring work these days... I have been up-to-date with your beautiful Oriental Pages though, and I'm really loving the new ones! The new backgrounds you use go very well with the new techniques you have started using now. I see that you are now more visually depicting your abstract symbols in the Pages, like the bird, like these brooches.
Some of your best marks are still here, like the perfect rounds and the tri-dots. In this one, I especially like the narrow colour spectrums for more vividness, and your usage of symmetry and dissymmetry.
And last but not least, much love from here. I hope you are having relatively more peaceful days over there in Baghdad. Stay safe.
This is definitly oriental in your colours and strokes, but the
interlacing part have also -for me - a hint of celtic work.
Thank you again for sharing what you do !
This one has a sort of religious feel in the design. I remember seeing designs like this on/in qurans with the text being of a religious nature (obviously ).

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Please FULL VIEW all these amazing pieces of ART. Visit the artists pages and give them a :+fav and your support. Thank you for taking the time........
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
